The documents have been created and submitted, now the waiting. Her photo looks more like a mug shot. Interesting thing is that her passport is good for 5 years. I’m pretty sure her ‘likeness’ will not be similar to that photo 4 or 5 years from now.

Our favorite donut shop, okay… 2nd favorite, Dunkin Donuts had to pull a recently released web ad featuring Rachael Ray because she was wearing a scarf similar to the black and white checkered scarfs worn in the middle east. You may remember the one that Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat wore. A conservative political blogger has called the ad by DD ‘symbolic support for Muslim extremism and terrorism.’

This is akin to saying that an ad in China with a man wearing Levi jeans is the same as supporting the US war in Iraq. Gimmie a break!

As we speak there is an area of Sudan on the boarder of North/South which as been a disputed area for a long time. The reason it’s desired by both groups is b/c it’s rich in oil. The state is West Kurdufan and the southern city is Abyei. This fighting is 200 miles West of Malakal. As you may recall, Taylor visited a small village called Atar. This is a little closer to Abyei than Malakal. In recent months they have been experiencing looting and other violence, but that is mostly between or even within the local tribes. The fighting in Abyei is between the military and rebel forces. The opportunity for war to break out is always there, but we all know God is in control. Please pray for peace. Pray for those who have been hurt, robbed, killed and otherwise harmed.
