Of course we are always praying for continued peace in Sudan. One of the agreements set in the treaty, was dates set by both sides for armed forces to leave certain areas. They are starting to miss there dates and we fear this may lead to a breakdown of the process leading to the vote in 2011.
As you might have heard, there was a major attack on the AU (African Union) forces on Sudan in Darfur. At least 7 personel were killed. Read about it at CNN.com>. Click the image.

Up until now the town of Malakal has been obscured by cloud cover on the sat photos. Now it’s crystal clear. I have created my own Google map with all of our points of interest. I may add a few more as I recall certain areas. With the newest imagery, that actually took photos of a large area, to within just a few miles of Atar. I was really bummed. But for now, check out the link below or click the image to see the Malakal map with our points of interests.

The long awaited Sudan Report has finally been completed. This six page document describes stories along the way, facts we found out, stories of people around us, reports on training and other things that you might find interesting. I hope it will give some insight into what life and ministry is like in Sudan as well as provide a few details you might be curious to know.

As a nice little bonus, I just found the “Comprehensive Peace Agreement” that was the peace treaty signed between the North and South Sudan following 20 years of civil war. I found it as a PDF on the State Department’s web site. If you’re really interested about Sudanese affairs, it’s a good read. Download the CPA PDF Here (8.6MB)

Just this morning I was informed by SIM that Allison and I had been moved from our current status as “Appointees” to APP-2 (Appointee-Transport Full). This means that we have raised all of our transport costs ($11,189). We are at about 20% ($1000) of our monthly need ($5200) and now need to raise about another $20,00 for all of our other up-front costs.
As mentioned in our last letter, we will be getting another letter out shortly that details our financial need and how you can get involved if you feel God is leading you that way.
Please be in prayer for how God would have you involved as well as for others as they are considering the same.
