Did you know that last year there were 8.3 million refugees (displaced persons due to war, political or religious persecution) in the world (a 30 year low). Of that, only 83,000 get resettled in countries that offer to accept them, 53,000 to the US.

For those of you who live in the Dallas area, we wanted to share with you an incredible opportunitiy right in our city. We have the chance to befriend a refugee family new to the U.S. and get the chance to learn about their own rich culture.
Saturday morning we went to a training offered by Catholic Charities for those interested in volunteering with resettlement of refugee families that come to Dallas. This was part of a training for a program at our church, Fellowship Bible of Dallas.
